! I hope you have all been encouraged in faith as you have served the Lord this week.
Today we begin a new worship series called, “Come and See”. Throughout this series we will be invited to focus on Jesus. Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus is a discipline that we would do well to master as evil and trouble increases. He is our hope and the source of our peace and joy for all times. I hope you will join in! Please share the service to invite others to join us as well. May God, who is with us, encourage your faith, establish you in peace and fill you with joy. Peace and Blessings, Pastor Thomas |
Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson, in an online meeting with the Conference Extended Cabinet, shares a prophetic and pastoral message inviting North Georgia United Methodists to recommit to prayer and spiritual disciplines and to hold up our plumb lines as we discern truth from falsehood, good from evil.

What is your vision of the perfect Christmas? During this season of Advent, we anticipate the Birth and Return of Jesus Christ. As you spend the next few weeks buying gifts, sending cards, and planning your perfect Christmas,
TALK ABOUT IT TOGETHER From Christmas Is Not Your Birthday, p. 37. 1. What is your vision of a perfect Christmas? What imperfect circumstances will you face this year that may challenge your ability to celebrate Christmas fully? 2. How do you think Mary felt in the months and days leading up to Jesus’ birth? How does here experience of the first Christmas influence the way you approach the holiday season? 3. How can you celebrate Jesus in the midst of your struggles? How can God use your struggles to help others this Christmas? |

Greetings Wonderful People of God,
Happy Tuesday! Have you ordered your Advent study yet? The daily readings for our churchwide study have begun. The lessons are really good. I'm already getting nailed (lol).
Here are the links again for the devotionals and for the recommended reading:
Devotional with daily readings for Advent: A Different Kind of Christmas
The mediation and lessons are designed so you can have faith discussions with your family and or friends throughout Advent. We will watch a video and recap together at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evenings via Zoom.
Here’s the information you need to connect to this week’s Zoom gathering.

The recommended reading that goes along with the study and the sermon series is: Christmas Is Not Your Birthday by Mike Slaughter.
With this study and with our worship series for Advent, we will Re-Imagine Christmas together.
Also, we still need volunteers to lead the candle lighting meditations for our services. Some have asked if you can record from home. Absolutely! You can record from home or from the church. Either way, we need the recording to be in by Thursday of that week so we can include it in the service. Please let me know if you and/or your family would like to take part. Instructions for making an Advent wreath at home are in the email I sent Nov 17th. You can find a copy of that email below.
May the Spirit of God awaken us to the hope, love, joy and peace that God has in-store for us as we journey through this season together.
Peace and Blessings,
Thomas

I’d like to share a devotion from J.D. Walt that really spoke to my heart this week in the midst of this ongoing pandemic. It is called, “There’s a New Temple in Town.” Walt gives much food for thought and prayer as we seek God during this time. Click the link to read and/or listen. May it bless you as it blessed me.
I hope you will join me during the live premier Sunday morning. If you’re not able, I hope you will join the worship service later after our hymn sing. May we all worship the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. May the grace and love of God be with you all!
Peace and Blessings,
Pastor Thomas
